2 Year Action Plan to Be Green

Small Steps

Time Frame: June 2008-December 2008

Pull the recycling bin to a more prominent area. MLCC Staff
Educate the staff to show where the dumpster is out in the parking lot. LML Go Green Group
Provider recycling bins for all in-Chamber events. MLCC Staff
Place bins in easy to access locations throughout the Chamber (kitchen, conference rooms) in copier room, paper-bins. MLCC Staff
Create signs over switches to reduce energy consumption. LML Go Green Group
Add signature line at the bottom of emails to encourage people to conserve paper when possible. MLCC Staff
Replace foam cups for mugs and/or cups that are biodegradable. Use biodegradable utensils, if possible. MLCC Staff
Turn thermostats down when leaving the office. When in the office, try to turn down the thermostat just a few degrees in the winter and up in the summer. Landlord/Staff
Promptly report leaky faucets to the landlord to save wasted water consumption. MLCC Staff
Print double-sided documents when possible. MLCC Staff
Create a “Green” committee who will report to the MLCC Board

Minimize “e-waste” – old computers. Donate old computers and cell phones to one of the vendors we have provided on our list. MLCC Staff

Creating a Green Culture

2. “Green” products and events are standard within the Chamber

3. Majority of “Green” Goals have been met and action steps exist to complete those not reached.
